I’ve completed a variety of paralegal projects for several attorneys since receiving my degree from WKU in 2011, but it all began here in Gallatin when three great general practice attorneys, Bart Highers, Jack Freedle and Jason Elliott, took me in straight out of school and quickly showed me the difference between classwork and real work.
Later on, I spent two and a half years working with Christina (“Chris”) Norris of Norris & Norris, PLC, in downtown Nashville. Under her tutelage, it became second nature for me to create medical record summaries (chronologies) and draft briefs for social security claims, as well as various pleadings for civil, estate, conservatorship and guardianship matters.
Prior to becoming a paralegal, I spent 8-12 years in accounts payable/receivable in corporate environments. My background with numbers and my drive to “keep digging to find out what went wrong” has proven to be incredibly beneficial to me as a paralegal. If you’ve ever had to create an accounting from scratch for a long-term conservatorship, you know what I mean.
